Of dreams reduced to carbon
Where dreams wouldn’t die

And beheld the birth of Sargon.
Infant soul and orphans we
Harken to a divine decree;
The sun yet shines over us
And will until we return to dust;
Like Moses and Christ and unwanted Lucifer
Begin life away from uncaring Jupiter;
The sun overhead
Yet grows grain for our bread,
His wife, the sea, sustains us;
Adopted are we
From divinity;
No gods nor emperors
Can restrain us.
